Seeking entrants for our Professional Communications Contest

It’s contest time!

Each year, MWSC participates in NFPW’s annual Communication Contest.  This is a wonderful opportunity to put your best work in front of distinguished judges in the respective fields you represent.

Our state deadline for participating in the 2012 contest was Monday, February 4, 2013.  The contest opens by November of each year for work completed in that calendar year and is open to all members, please plan now to participate in the 2013 contest. 

You will need:

1. An entry form (PDF) – you can make copies from the original for additional entries, or this year we again have a WORD document that you can download and complete electronically. If you have multiple entries, this will save you some time.

2. A copy of the rules and categories – you can also view them online at

    Send a check for $20 per entry, made payable to Media Women of South Carolina.

    If you aren’t a member or if you haven’t paid your annual dues yet, you will need to do so online (membership information is available at http://www.nfpw.org/join.cfm. Remember to add $20 for SC state dues to the $76 professional membership dues. Cost is only $96 total per year, and the benefits include opportunities such as professional networking, national conferences, competitions and recognition, leadership development, access to the job bank, discounted libel insurance, membership in the First Amendment Network, access to the membership directory, newsletters, members-only pages and more.

    Entries either postmarked by February 1st or dropped at the Sherman College campus on or before February 4th will be accepted. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Karen Rhodes.
